Believe in.

‘Believe in’ are a studio based in England who work in design, art direction and branding. Currently in university one of our projects requires us to create a publication and so I was drawn to Believe in’s book design for Bernadette Jiwa. The book is called ‘You are the map maker’. It is a typographic design which enables aspiring entrepreneurs to gain words of wisdom from thirteen international creative business leaders.

The use of circles and colour to represent each contributor to the book is both playful and engaging. It allows the viewer to navigate through the book with ease. The book has won awards for it’s typography and now has been developed into a series of posters.

Sarah Pannasch

Sarah Pannasch is a graphic designer and photographer. She is originally from Germany but studied graphic design in University of Ulster Belfast for two semesters. Today she came in to our classroom to talk to us about her work.

Her book on red heads stood out for me. Both the photography and editorial details are beautifully handled. The photos are so striking. Every part of the book is so considered, right down to the use of orange thread for the binding.

For one of our university projects we will have to create a small publication and so I found it very beneficial looking at how Sarah handles type and image together.
